iPod touch

APPLE IPOD TOUCH 16GB 2ND GEN We were lucky enough to have an iPod touch as one of our many gifts this Christmas. I’d imagined it would be quite a handy little MP3 player, but not enormously different from previous iPods. How wrong I was. It is almost identical in looks to the iPhone and seems to do all that the iPhone does apart from make calls obviously! It doesn’t just play your music, no, it can play video, hold pictures, provides you with your location and how to travel to another location ( I assume this is what Sat Nav does), connect to our wireless network and so allows you to surf the web and finally, but probably not lastly, you can play games on it. Add to all of this that it is slim, stylish, beautiful and sexy and you can see why I want one for me now!

I’m sure that it does far more than I have mentioned as it seems to have many different icons to direct you on to the next thing, but I’m more than impressed by what I have seen. As I said I was expecting a gadget that looked good and played music! I really must read more on the latest must haves and may be I’d have been in-the-know sooner.

The only downside that i have come across and it was something that others had mentioned is that the exterior marks and scratched very easily. Despite the advice that a cover should be bought straight away we waited for a couple of days and the once perfectly shiny back now bears some scratches. I’d say it is a definite must to buy a cover along with the iPod touch to avoid this happening.

So for a little gadget that does so much I’d say this one (preventable) draw back is nothing in comparison to what it offers. Take a look here for an iPod touch and add one to your wish list.

Fight the freezing cold weather

Hot Hand Warmer by from Iwantoneofthose.comWe spent our Boxing Day watching football. Firstly the wonderful Manchester United versus Stoke City from the comfort of our living room thanks to Sky Sports the home of live sport. (Order online at Sky.com now)! Our final game was also on Sky; Arsenal versus Aston Villa. The middle game of the day was in the cold afternoon at the struggling Crewe Alex! By the end of the afternoon Crewe had lost another 3 points with Oldham scoring 3 and the Alex not managing to get on the scoreboard at all. We were also extremely cold with the temperatures plummeting to zero as the game ended. However, my brother, who we met at half time had come prepared with some hand warmers. Being the kind hearted brother he is he gave me a go of one of them. It’s a small reusable gel packet, which when activated warms up enough to thaw my hands and keep me warm for the second half!

I was so impressed I had to investigate and found several in our shop and just had to buy us all some. I’m still waiting delivery of mine, although if the post is kind they might be here before this weekends football matches, but at less than £4 they are an excellent way of keeping warm during these cold, wintry days and nights!

Take a look here in our shop for a selection of these amazing little bundles of warmth!

Sale Time!

30 December 2008

Everywhere seems to have had a sale on since November, but now is an even better time to grab some bargains. I bough a gorgeous corduroy jacket in Marks and Spencer for just £29! I’d wanted it for Christmas, but got another jacket from my list (which I also love!) so was pleased to see it in my size waiting for me on Saturday. I also bagged a lovely scarf, which was just £5 and that was the non sale price. Marks and Spencer currently have their new clothing range on line, but you can get 50% off furniture.

I found a really comfy pair of boots from Millets where you can get an extra 20% off everything with the code NEWYEAR20. The boots were these Alpine sub zero boots for just £29.99 and will be ideal for watching the boys’ football on cold winter mornings.

Kitbag have a massive 70% sale on line as do Currys (with FREE delivery on orders over £49), PC World and Dixons. Get a further 2% off at Dixons with the code MARCH2 up until 3pm Friday 6th march2009. Read more

Nothing makes you feel like it’s Christmas than seeing the trees at night as you drive by. Or the flashing lights decorating houses. I was surprised at how inexpensive the lights are and how beautiful, I think, they look.
