Protect and Perfect
16 October 2008
It’s hard to perfect perfection, but I have given it a go with Boots Perfect and Protect Beauty Serum for the last 12 months. It has sadly become habit, because I truly can’t see any difference in my skin, but what if there is a difference and it was so gradual that I hadn’t noticed???
I do know it isn’t doing me any harm, so I keep using it along with their daily moisturiser, which suits my skin. I have found that some moisturisers can make my skin feel greasy and cause it to get spotty, which I feel is a look for teenagers and not for people who have wrinkles and sagging skin to trouble their day!
Now is a good time to try as there is a 3 for 2 offer on selected No7 products. They also have their Christmas gifts available with some on the same 3 for 2 offer. A great idea to help spread the cost of Christmas and get some bargains too!
THE Banking crisis!
16 October 2008
I have banked with cahoot for a few years now and have always found their website easy to use and my accounts simple to manage. However, since yesterday (15th October) I have been unable to access my accounts. It is my first job of the day to check my accounts and transfer cash between accounts as and when necessary. Yesterday morning I found I couldn’t log on. I left it for a while incase it was our system or just a glitch, but found that all day I could not log on. I began to get a little frustrated and given the current climate, I felt a slight panic.
Do Something Different for Gift ideas
13 October 2008
We have a family 40th birthday coming up soon and as ever found ourselves wondering what would be the best gift to buy. Nowadays everyone seems to have everything apart from a Ferrari! The birthday boy’s wife suggested something that all of the family could do as, again typically, this hard-working dad doesn’t get to spend as much time as he’d like with his family during the week.
We decided to take a look at the various gift experiences and tourist attractions available and came up with two great ideas from
DoSomethingDifferent.com. The first was a fast pass ride on the London Eye. The second is a ‘Duck Tour‘, which is a tour of London in an amphibeous vehicle, which starts on dry land before the finale of plunging into the Thames for a tour along the river. It sounds like excellent fun and something I am considering booking for our family too or suggesting it as a suitable Christmas gift for us.

The Joys of Autumn
10 October 2008
Autumn is always greeted with a mixture of emotions. Summer has definitely gone; no matter how optimistic one might be it is now that any hope of an ‘Indian summer’ is truly gone. No longer do we wake hoping to see a hot sunny day only to find, at least here in the UK, that the reality is grey skies and the only promise for the day is more grey dullness and summer showers. Summers are really beginning to let themselves down badly. However, autumn always arrives as billed with darker nights and mornings and the change from luscious green to crispy coppers and golds. That is why for me autumn has to be the most reliable and satisfying season.
