Note to self - don’t iron outside

The other week when the sun shone; I’m sure it did, but this tale proves to me that it wasn’t a figment of my imagination despite the almost non stop rain we have had forever now. Anyway, back to the day the sun shone…. I had a mountain of ironing to do and decided that rather than waste the day indoors I would bring it all outside.
Great idea until one false move causes the ironing board to shake and my beloved iron (Russell Hobbs Steam Generator)to fall on to the patio beneath! the iron itself survived, but the water tank sadly did not. I was devastated! However, Curry’s Partsmaster came to my rescue. They had a spare water tank for only £4.75 and they could deliver. I paid for express delivery and my new tank arrived the next working day. I couldn’t ask for better service. Now the sun has never shone again, so I haven’t been tempted to try a rerun. Thankfully the iron still works perfectly with its brand new tank.
Another season, another trophy!

The new football season has begun. The Community Shield took place today with 
Manchester United winning thanks to Edwin van der Sar saving all of the ‘other teams’ penalty attempts. Rooney finished the shoot out by putting the ball past Petr Cech to give United the much deserved win, 3-0 (1-1 draw at full time). Premiership games start this weekend with United beginning the defence of their title against Reading on Sunday. I can’t wait!
We’ve been lucky enough to see 2 pre-season friendlies. The first was a visit to Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium for the second day of the Emirates cup, which Arsenal won. The second game we saw was United V Inter Milan at Old Trafford. A great game, but sadly not a United win.
Despite this we still take great pride in our Champions T-shirts! Come on you Reds!
