Oops, it’s Father’s Day on Sunday

I was just watching ITV’s This Morning where there was an item on gifts for Father’s Day and realised that I’ve completely forgotten … until now. They did however have some fantastic ideas for gifts, which although it might be a little late for Sunday are worth noting for future reference. I’ve listed some of their ideas and some of my own.

Digital photo frame.

It is a simple, but totally brilliant idea. You simply place the memory card from your camera in to one of these and it can display one picture or a slideshow. Argos have a 7 inch frame, which was featured on the programme. It is the cheapest that I can see (£39.99), but if you want a larger frame then this one from has a 10.4 inch frame, which also allows you to add a video clip and sound (149.95) but there’s a 7 inch frame here (£69.95) Alternatively an 8 inch frame (£199.95). Projector keyboard (£149).

I have to say I wasn’t totally convinced by this, but the general idea is that a keyboard is projected onto any flat surface, which you then use to type and it sends the information to your PDA or smart phone using Bluetooth.

Cordless headphones.

Not featured on the programme, but Jim has some of these that he bought himself (why do they buy themselves what would be a great present?). This pair costs £69.99. They also have these for £49.99. Jim can listen to his music almost anywhere in the house and not bother us with his taste in music! Look here in our shop for more headphones.

Experiences

There are many experiences to choose from such as Monster truck driving (£129). They also have go-karting (£49), Spy Academy (£99), and Ghost hunting (£99).

Alternatively, there’s tank driving experience (£175), parachuting (£249), stock car racing (£169) or flying lessons (£95). Look here for more experiences, not just for the man in your life, but for the ladies and the children.

Flying Alarm clockI also found this flying alarm clock (£18.94). I know it’d be great fro Jim or Son Number Two as neither of them are good at getting up. You can’t stop the alarm unless you get up to replace the propeller, but I have visions of my son replacing the propeller and crawling back to bed!

There’s also a USB turntable for playing all of those records (£119). For cricket fans there’s Plug and Play cricket (£39.95). Again from This Morning there’s the T-Qualizer Music Tee (£19.95), which is a funky t-shirt that reacts to sound. Perfect if your dad likes to go clubbing!

    The perfect alarm clock? - I think I’m just plain lazy really, but I find it a bit of a pain having to change the time on the alarm clock.
