Digital Film Scanner by from Iwantoneofthose.comDigital Film Scanner £89.99
The arrival of digital cameras in our lives has revolutionised our picture taking. Now it’s easy to share photos with friends, get prints done on-line or print them at home, make photo albums, mugs, T-Shirts, canvases for your walls, the list is endless. But what about all those great pictures from the past? Bundles of old negatives and slides lie redundant in drawers, and nowadays trying to use them for prints (or anything else on that long list) is a right royal pain. Well help is at hand, now you can easily convert all your favourite old negatives and slides into digital images with the Digital Film Scanner.

This brilliant little piece of kit comes with holders for both negatives and slides, and at the press of the ‘Copy’ button will scan your historical (or possibly hysterical) images with its 5 MegaPixel SMOS sensor, and save them as either Tiff or Jpeg files on your PC. It comes complete with software for editing, cropping and re-sizing your images, and was designed for use by people who don’t really know what they’re doing, which is how we managed to figure it out. It’s an absolute joy to get all those old pictures from way back when and see them all afresh - at last you can turn the past into the present. Click here to buy.

iRecorder from Iwantoneofthose.comiRecorder £99.95
Being able to watch your favourite movie or TV shows whilst on the move is one of the great things about modern gizmos. The only problem for many of us is how on earth to get those movies and TV progs onto our gadgets without forests of wires, a degree in computing, and piles of indecipherable manuals. In steps the iRecorder to make the job simplicity itself. Basically this neat little gizmo plugs into your TV and your portable media player, sucks out your movie or whatever, compresses it, and pops it onto your device. Hey presto, no computers needed - it pretty much acts like a VCR or DVD recorder, but of course effortlessly squeezes a two hour movie down into a 2 Gig MPEG4 file. It will record from analog TV, cable, set top box, satellite receiver box, DVD or your Camcorder. As long as there’s an RCA jack output from your source, you can plug it into this device’s AV-IN jack to record. The iRecorder also has an AV OUT for you to preview or play your video on your TV. The USB jack lets you simply plug in your iPod, or whatever, and store your recorded video directly to it. The gizmo is compatible with iPods, Nano (3rd generation), iPod Classic or any other USB device media device that can play Mpeg4s. Now it’s not just the scary people with pens in their top pocket who can watch movies on the move.

Rocket Fishing Rod by from Iwantoneofthose.comRocket Fishing Rod £29.95
Why flail around with a normal rod when you can cock this brilliant behemoth and fire your line to the perfect spot on the pond! The pump action cocking system is wickedly fun, and a safety catch prevents you from firing it off into a field of cows by mistake. The Rocket Fishing Rod will fire your line up to thirty feet, and comes with a full length fishing line, three hooks, three weights and three rubber grubs (possibly for catching rubber fish), and the float is already attached to the end of the line. It’s obviously not a piece of kit for pro anglers, but will transform the fishing lives of all those who want to have a dabble down the pond, and be in with a chance of actually catching something other than a cold. Stylophone from Iwantoneofthose.comStylophone £14.99
Back in the Cretaceous Period (or was it the 70’s), when calculators were the size of small cars and an auto pop-up toaster was considered hi-tech, some geek sandwiched two circuit-boards together, chucked in some random wiring, and gave birth to a musical (sic) instrument that was to become an icon. After nearly 40 years in the closet, the Stylophone pocket synthesiser made popular by the likes of Rolph Harris and David Bowie (he used it in timeless classic Space Oddity) is back. You tap the electronic keys with the integral stylus to make funky noises - now with additional Classic, Synth and Bass sounds, - and maybe you can produce some musical hits using this retro kit as the likes of Kraftwerk, Erasure, Orbital, Marilyn Manson, They Might Be Giants, and White Stripes have done in the past. You can play solo, or plug in your iPod/MP3 player and play along to your favourite tunes, and even add some vibrato enhancement to really annoy anyone foolish enough to be listening to you. It may have been invented in 1967, but 40 years on this re-invention is bound to be another hit. Click here to buy.

Bladerunner Black Ghost from Iwantoneofthose.comBladerunner Black Ghost £19.95
The name Black Ghost immediately conjures up an image of elegance, a sense of foreboding and a shiver of excitement. More or less exactly the experience you’ll get from flying this remarkable helicopter. Not far off looking like an Apache helicopter (if you squint a bit) but sadly without the weaponry, this tiny little powerhouse is so astonishingly stable even an idiot can fly it. We tested it on of our idiots in the IWOOT office just to make sure. As well as being an easy flyer it’s also pretty darn resilient along with full altitude and directional control plus a super steady forward motion. It charges up from the remote (which takes 6 AA batteries) and you should get at least 10 mins flying time before it needs another charge. This really is the most stable and controllable little helicopter we’ve ever played with - and we’ve played with a lot (it’s important research you know). This well and truly rocks. Grilliput from Iwantoneofthose.comGrilliput £24.99
The smallest and most portable BBQ on the planet. Is this or is this not the most brilliant invention ever invented by someone who goes around inventing things? The Grilliput, with a literary nod to Mr. Swift, is a travel BBQ that fits in your pocket! Aptly named the Grilliput, this ridiculously compact camping grill is about the cleverest piece of design we’ve seen in an age. At only 29cm long and 2.2cm wide you can stash it anywhere, and when you’re feeling peckish open it up into a 23×26cm BBQ. No more lugging hefty BBQs out to the park, into the woods or down to the beach, just pop the diminutive Grilliput in your back pocket and you’re sorted. Made from high quality stainless steel it’s completely dishwasher friendly, and even has a cleaning groove notched in it so you can scrape off the grill before you pack it up in its tiny solid tube. Web-cam Missile Launcher from Iwantoneofthose.comWeb-cam Missile Launcher £49.95
The ridiculously popular USB Missile Launcher has had a radical refit, an uber upgrade if you will. Where once you could control it from your keyboard and fire wildly into the yonder, you can now, thanks to its on-board webcam, see what you’re pointing at! So not only do you have a live image to home-in on (which is just SO cool), they’ve also added sound effects, such as a missile whooshing noise and a warning siren. As if this wasn’t enough it can also hook up to your MSN and anyone on your MSN list, be they in the same building or the other side of the world, can control and fire your missile launch. Yes really, it’s amazing isn’t it. The fun you can have is almost endless. You could even hook it up to your machine at home, log into your MSN at work, and if anyone comes near your machine you can scare the bejesus out of them by remotely zapping them with a missile. It’s almost too brilliant to comprehend. The image quality is excellent, you can adjust the camera angle to hone your accuracy, and find out just how much time you can waste at work (really quite a lot from our experience). This thing is awesome. Click here to buy.
