Oh, I wish I’d looked after my teeth!
1 May 2007
Whenever we have to go to the dentist I’m reminded of this monologue by Pam Ayres. Perhaps that I remember it shows my age, but nonetheless I am amazed by how much dental care has changed since I was young. My dentist was an ogre as I remember and quite frankly scarred me for life.
I am now, as a result, very eagre to keep my teeth clean and shiny and for the last few years have used an electric toothbrush. My last one had started to die in as much as the battery would only stay charged for a day or two and then stop mid-brush. I asked my lovely dentist friend for help as when I’d loked there seemed to be more that one brush to choose from at varying prices, which always thros me in to confusion! My previous brush was a Philips similar to this and although I was happy with it the replacement brushes were fairly pricey. I was recommended the Braun Oral B range, which has less expensive replacement heads, so I was reliably informed.
I have since bought my new toothbrush similar to this one and it is amazing! It’s as easy to use as the Philips, but the brush head rotates and maybe because my old one was past its best my teeth look and feel cleaner. What I do like is that it vibrates to tell me my 30 seconds is up for that ‘quadrant’, whereas my old brush simply stoppped after the recommended two minuted of brushing.
It isn’t a cheap toothbrush, but in my opinion it’s well worth it to have healthy teeth and avoid the dentists drill!

Is it just me who doesn’t like shopping? - I sometimes wonder if one of the basic and fundamental genes is missing from my make-up. I’m (allegedly) female, but I really don’t enjoy shopping.
