The pefect holiday cottage

Having stayed here I can recommend these holidays cottages. We stayed last Easter from Monday to Friday, but actually a whole week would have been better. We were blessed with good weather, but that wasn’t what made this break. We stayed in the smaller cottage, Bwythn Pennant, which sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms. The larger cottage, Melin Hir, sleeps 8. You can book them through Hoseasons in our shop.
The setting is truly breathtaking; the Cwm Pennat Valley in the Snowdonian National Park. The cottages share a garden, which was plenty big enough for a game of football and for the dog to have a run around. There was also a swing and climbing frame. If you have the need to do some washing you’ll find a shared laundry, which is free to use.
I can only speak for Bwthyn Pennant, but it was tastefully and comfortably furnished with the full Sky package available, which was great for us as we didn’t have to miss a football game! You could bake a cake in the kitchen it’s so well stocked with equipment, but having said that we were welcomed with a most delicious chocolate cake and some biscuits for the dog! A welcome pack was also provided with the basics like tea, coffee, butter and bread.
The owners live on site and were lovely. They were available if you needed to know anything, but not at all intrusive. Whilst we were staying they were in the process of installing hot tubs for both cottages, which according to the Hoseasons website are now up and running. I have to say didn’t feel the need for a hot tub during my stay, but it’s there if it happens to be your cup of tea!
I can not describe just how beautiful this area is. Porthmadog has some useful shops and a supermarket for all your supplies and is a 5 or 10 minute drive. Black Rock sands was a hit for us with miles of sand, which was just what was needed for the dog to run around and for the boys to kick a ball. Parking was free (you park on the sand) here until the last day which was Good Friday and then the entrance to the beach was manned, so I guess in season this is always the case. For a couple of pounds it’s worth it as you can spend the whole day here.
These cottages are a great base for touring around Snowdonia and I would recommend them to anyone. There’s definitely no chipped crockery or battered old furniture to be found here!

Adults only! - We have just had a fabulous week away; just the two of us and no children! It was great! I managed to find us this great cottage near to Tavira in Portugal. Not so much a lesson learned, but a lesson confirmed - We needed to buy at the request of a friend the Sing Star for their PS3 for New Yers Eve.
