It’s time to crack open the thermals

We watch our boys play football each weekend and win or lose we all enjoy it. However, this weekend was the first really cold one here. It’s not been warm for a few weeks I know, but it sort of crept up on me this week.
The start of the season is always still t-shirt weather, but my goodness the thermals are out for next week; socks, vest, long johns, the lot. I hadn’t realised how chilly it would be until I’d stood on the touchline for 5 minutes. The wind and icy rain soon had the extremities frozen up. Thankfully I had my gloves and a ‘decent’ coat, but the thermal attire and scarf had all be left at home. Jim has just bought a new thermal top, so he had this on and was nice and warm. I don’t care if it’s a heatwave in November I’m wearing my thermals from now on.
